Robert Juhasz, DO, FACOI, FACP

Robert S. Juhasz, DO is an osteopathic internal medicine physician who in July 2014 became the 118th President of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), which represents over 104,000 DOs and osteopathic medical students. Dr. Juhasz has served on the AOA’s Board of Trustees since 2005 and has been Chair of several AOA departments. He was chair of the AOA’s Education Policy and Procedure Review Committee III and a member of the Blue Ribbon Commission for the Advancement of Osteopathic Medical Education in 2012-2013.

Dr. Juhasz is a past president of the Cleveland Academy of Osteopathic Medicine and the Ohio Osteopathic Association. He is a graduate of John Carroll University and the Kansas City University College Of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri and an honorary graduate of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OUHCOM), and completed a rotating internship and internal medicine residency programs at Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital. Dr. Juhasz was a residency program director and Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at Richmond Heights General Hospital. He has remained active in osteopathic medical education and served as Associate Dean for the OUHCOM Cleveland Extension Campus, in affiliation with the Cleveland Clinic. He is a recipient of the OUHCOM Philips Medal of Public Service, the highest honor bestowed by OUHCOM.

As a member of the professional staff of the Cleveland Clinic since 1998, Dr. Juhasz was involved in implementing the electronic medical record at the Cleveland Clinic Willoughby Family Health Center in 2001. He was the Medical Director of the Cleveland Clinic Willoughby Hills Family Health Center with a staff of over 100 providers and in September 2013 became the President of South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, Ohio, where he led an outstanding group of leaders, caregivers, medical staff members, residents, and students. In April 2017, Dr. Juhasz returned to his internal medicine practice at the Cleveland Clinic Willoughby Hills Family Health Center, and to medical education, as a faculty member of OUHCOM and the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Dr. Juhasz has been an advocate for improving the volume, quality, publication and impact of osteopathic research and improving all medical care through the unique contributions of osteopathic medicine.

He and his wife, Donna, are lifelong residents of Greater Cleveland and enjoy the outdoors and spending time with their adult children and grandchildren.
