Understanding Non-Compliance Reports
The ACGME has renamed its “Complaints” process to “Non-Compliance Reporting.” The updated terminology more accurately reflects the purpose of the process, which allows individuals to report allegations of significant and widespread non-compliance with ACGME accreditation or recognition requirements. The process serves as a mechanism for providing information that may inform accreditation and recognition review and decisions.
While the name has changed, the purpose and review process remain the same. New and updated resources, including guidance materials and FAQs, are available to help stakeholders understand when submitting a Non-Compliance Report is appropriate and how the ACGME reviews submitted information. The Accreditation Data System (ADS) has also been updated to reflect the new terminology.

Pathology Program Director Interviews and Stakeholder Summit
The Review Committee for Pathology will soon begin work on the 10-year major revision of the Program Requirements for Gradute Medical Education in Pathology.
To inform the next set of Program Requirements, the ACGME seeks current pathology program directors who are interested in participating in a one-on-one, one-hour interview to provide their perspective on the future of pathology residency education.
The ACGME is also seeking current pathology program directors interested in participating in a Stakeholder Summit on September 16-17, 2027 (date updated) in Chicago.
A series of activities designed to gather relevant information is planned, including a literature review; interviews with members of key stakeholder groups; development and administration of a survey on key issues relevant to pathology education; and the stakeholder summit.

Urology Complement Increase Instructions
In an effort to reduce burden on programs, the Review Committee has updated the block diagram expectations for permanent complement increase requests. Programs submitting such a request are no longer required to include a proposed block diagram for each academic year for all years of the program until the full complement is realized. See the “Requests for Changes in Resident/Fellow Complement” document, available on the Documents and Resources page of the Urology section of the ACGME website, for more information.

Behavioral Observation and Observation Snapshots Microlearning Modules
The Faculty Development Toolkit, available in Learn at ACGME, includes a variety of easy-to-access microlearning modules.
The Behavioral Observation Training microlearning session reviews strategies for maximizing direct observation while minimizing interference from the observer.
Earn up to 0.25 CME credits.
The Observation Snapshots microlearning session highlights how to make time for direct observation by identifying and using small, meaningful moments as observation.

The following Review Committee seeks its next public member for a six-year terms beginning July 1, 2027. Public members share the perspective of the public, foster public accountability, enrich the work of the Review Committee through outside expertise, and create transparency. While nominees cannot be physicians, other health care professionals are permitted if they are not employed by an organization with ACGME-accredited residency or fellowship programs.

JGME seeks up to 600-word papers on novel GME interventions or assessments that have been implemented at least once and appear successful in preliminary evaluations.
