June 4, 2021: McAfee Site Advisor Issue

Users getting McAfee Site Advisor security alerts about ACGME.org are invalid. The ACGME is actively working with McAfee to resolve this.

If you are receiving pop-up notifications, review the guidance in this set of instructions.

Supported Browser Information

The ACGME.org website, including all ACGME data systems, can be accessed anywhere with an Internet connection via a computer using Microsoft Windows or Apple Mac operating systems. To utilize current features and future enhancements completely, please access our systems using one of the supported web browsers listed below.

  • Google Chrome
  • Safari
  • Internet Explorer 11


The web browser requirement applies to all the ACGME data systems: Case Log System, Surveys, and Accreditation Data System.

Caching and Security

Caching: If you are using Internet Explorer, we strongly advise switching to another browser to ensure that you are viewing the latest versions of the posted documents.

If Internet Explorer is the only browser available for you to use, please check the edit date (on page one of the Program Requirements and in the footer of other documents) and verify that you are seeing the most current version of the document.

How to: Internet Explorer 9, 10, and 11 - Clearing Cache and Cookies

Security: Due to security concerns identified by Microsoft, the ACGME will no longer support Internet Explorer versions 10 and below after June 2016. The discontinued support of Internet Explorer versions 10 and below will apply to the Case Log System, Surveys, and the Accreditation Data System. Be aware that our upgraded data collection systems will work in Internet Explorer 10 but you may encounter decreased user interface experience and functionality.

In Internet Explorer 10, go to:

  1. Tools
  2. Internet options
  3. Security tab
  4. Trusted Sites
  5. Sites button
  6. Add https://apps.acgme.org to your list of trusted sites
  7. Click "Add” and “Close”

All users are urged to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11 in order to take advantage of its improved security features and stability. To upgrade, visit the Internet Explorer downloads page.

Viewing PDF or Word/Doc files

Improve viewing of Portable Document Format (PDF) or Microsoft Word (DOC) files available on the ACGME website by downloading the latest version of Adobe Reader (for PDF format) or Microsoft Office (for Word format).
